Weekend Challenge!

Up for a challenge?  Try out the problem below!
The class is going to make grab bags to sell on Valentine’s Day to raise money for the school. The students brought bags of two types of candy. Students counted out the pieces of candy and discovered that they had 180 lifesavers and 126 pieces of licorice. If they have no leftover candy, what is the greatest number of bags they can make for the sale?

Let me hear it:  Explain (without giving away the answer) how you solved the problem.  Include how you began, where you got stuck, and how you worked toward an answer!
